The official way to determine whether you qualify as a healthcare provider is to determine if your company fits the [CFR 45 § 160.103](https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/45/160.103) definition of health care provider. An attorney can verify whether this is the case for your business. A more obvious indicator of whether you are considered to be a health care provider is to check whether there is an NPI identification number that your business falls under. HIPAA requires all health care providers to use this number on all transactions under the financial and administrative portions of HIPAA.
