What Is the CCPA Right to Non-Discrimination?

The CCPA directly prohibits businesses from discriminating against consumers who choose to exercise their CCPA Rights. This means that when you submit a Request to Know, Request to Delete, or Request to Opt-Out to a business, that business cannot:

  • Deny you goods and/or services

  • Charge you a different price for the goods and/or services—including the use of discounts or through the use of penalties

  • Provide for you a different level of quality of their goods and/or services

As the Right to Non-Discrimination is effective across the board, there is no specific “request” that you need to make in order to exercise this right under the CCPA.
